Political and Health Journalist, Lianhe Zaobao (SPH Media)
Gwen Lee Geng Wei is a political and health journalist with Lianhe Zaobao, Singapore's leading Chinese-language daily, where her reporting moves fluidly between the policy desks of government ministries and the front lines of the country's crime and health beats. She joined Zaobao as a rookie journalist in 2021 after applying for the SPH Media Journalism Scholarship in 2016 and studying political science at the National University of Singapore, and her current portfolio spans political coverage, healthcare policy, and the breaking-news incidents that move overnight in Chinese-language journalism. Gwen's storytelling is shaped by a commitment to balance and to amplifying the voices of people who otherwise fall through the cracks, and her work flows across Zaobao's print, video, and live-stream products, where she has gone from covering a murder scene in Geylang one week to interviewing an aspiring Chinese dancer the next. She is part of a new generation of bilingual SPH journalists carrying Singapore's Chinese press into a multimedia future.
