Troy Hunt is an Australian web security consultant and founder of Have I Been Pwned, a free public database allowing individuals to check if their personal information has been compromised in known data breaches. Since creating the service in 2013, prompted by the Adobe Systems breach affecting 153 million accounts, Hunt has tracked over 644 data breaches, making him a frequently cited cybersecurity and data breach expert. He has been a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional since 2011 and a Microsoft Regional Director since 2016, focusing on developer security and technology. Hunt has authored popular security courses on Pluralsight, regularly presents keynotes on security topics, and has earned the Mary Litynski Award for lifetime achievement in making the internet safer.
